The future
of doors safety

leaner and smarter

It continuously monitors the area around industrial doors and gates, detecting motion in real time while the door is opening or closing. Powered by advanced LiDAR technology, it delivers precise, fully contactless protection throughout the entire operating cycle.

Through real-time 3D imaging, infrared laser illumination, and continuous-wave time-of-flight measurements, LEYON-Safe creates an accurate and dynamic map of its surroundings. The result? Comprehensive protection, even in demanding industrial environments.

For manufacturers of automatic doors and automation systems, it provides a smarter, simpler, and highly reliable path to maximum safety — without added complexity.

Beyond Perception

High-speed industrial doors define performance in today’s high-traffic environments. They move faster, save energy, and keep operations flowing without interruption.

But speed alone is not enough. Every door must guarantee maximum safety — for people, vehicles, and equipment — without slowing productivity. Traditional solutions rely on multiple devices: light curtains, safety edges, photoelectric sensors. More components mean more complexity, higher installation effort, and greater risk of downtime.

In industrial environments, real value is measured by Total Cost of Ownership — not just purchase price. Installation time, maintenance, service calls, training, and lost productivity all impact your bottom line.

LEYON-Safe transforms door safety into a strategic advantage.
By reducing complexity and minimizing lifetime costs, it maximizes uptime and delivers measurable return on investment.

Standard

Traditional industrial door protection relies on a combination of multiple sensor solutions, including light curtains, safety edges with remote control modules, and photoelectric sensors with reflectors or receiver modules. Each of these components must be mounted within or in proximity of the door frame, precisely aligned, wired, and powered, resulting in increased installation complexity and higher overall costs, especially when ensuring reliable performance throughout the entire lifecycle of the door.

All-in-one solution

As a Type E sensor approved under EN 12978, LEYON-Safe-E replaces multiple protective sensing elements and eliminates the need for additional safety devices on the door, simplifying installation while reducing cost and time, and delivering a leaner, smarter safety solution.

Requires no mechanical adjustments. Simply align the drilling template on the left or right side of the door, mount the bracket with the spacer, secure the sensor, and it is ready to operate. Everything clicks into place. No tilting or rotating required, and no visual aids needed to verify positioning or adjust the safety field.
Any additional fine-tuning can be easily handled remotely through the web app.

smooth operations every day

Standard

Safety sensors used on industrial doors — such as light curtains, safety edges, and photocells — are typically installed on the door posts or within the bottom edge of the moving door. These locations are highly critical, as the devices are exposed to dust, moisture, ice, snow, chemicals, and not so unlikely impacts from forklifts or trucks during daily loading and unloading operations. When sensors become dirty or are struck, misalignment or malfunction often occurs, requiring readjustment or complete replacement. In such cases, door operation must be halted for hours or even days until service is completed and safe operation is restored.

LEYON-Safe

Installed overhead at a minimum height of 2.5 m, LEYON-Safe remains clear of dust, moisture, ice, snow, and chemicals. Positioned safely out of reach of trucks and forklifts, it operates from a protected location and continues to function even if a vehicle damages the door or door posts, ensuring maximum up-time and uninterrupted operations.

effortless setup

Standard

Advanced sensors for industrial door safety typically require precise setup and validation of the safety area, including defining the activation zone. Even with tools like visible laser beams or external markers, automatic configuration can sometimes fail. Errors during the teach-in process may be caused by sun glare, heavy rain, snow, fog, vibrations, or incorrect sensor mounting, often requiring mechanical adjustments and repeating the setup.

LEYON-Safe

LEYON-Safe transforms this process. Once installed, it enables effortless automatic configuration through an integrated, highly intuitive web app accessible from any mobile device. Its wide field of view eliminates the need for mechanical adjustments, and the auto-teach smart function requires only a single door cycle to learn the environment and set up the safety area, no extra tools required.

Standard

There are several ways to interact with sensors. Some rely only on LEDs and DIP switches to display status and alarms and to configure limited set of functions. Others require a remote controller, which assumes familiarity with complex button combinations, while more advanced devices use Android or iOS apps with extensive programming options that are often complex and require frequent updates for security and bug fixes. As a result, these solutions can create a barrier for users, many of whom still prefer simple sensors with LED and DIP switches and limited programming to avoid unnecessary complexity.

LEYON-Safe

Anyone can operate LEYON-Safe with confidence. Just scan the QR code with your mobile device, and you’re ready to go. The web app is made in a way that no complicated steps are needed, no steep learning curve. The flexible design of both web app and sensor easily adapts the installation to each user’s unique needs. The intelligent design does more than detect: The sensor monitors its own health (temperature and signal quality) to prevent downtime and maintain peak performance.

The standout power of LEYON-Safe? Pure simplicity.

early detection

Standard

To improve productivity and reduce energy losses caused by temperature differences between building areas, automatic industrial doors are increasingly operated at higher speeds. This, however, increases the risk of injury to people and damage to vehicles. Conventional safety devices such as light curtains and safety edges are typically installed within the door frame, requiring a person or vehicle to enter the doorway before detection. If the door is closing and an approaching person or vehicle is distracted, impact may occur before the door can stop or reverse, creating a safety hazard.

LEYON-Safe

LEYON-Safe monitors the area in front of the door protecting distracted workers from being injured by the door while closing. Thanks to early detection of people and vehicles it ensures safer door reversal and maximum comfort. Providing peace of mind even in the busiest workplaces.

Industrial doors are typically exposed to harsh environmental conditions. In both indoor and outdoor applications, temperature fluctuations, rain, and snow can negatively affect door-mounted sensors, reducing their performance or requiring premature replacement. In addition, vibrations generated by the door motors during opening and closing cycles are common and can further shorten a sensor’s operational lifespan.

LEYON-Safe

LEYON-Safe ensures continuous operation even in the most demanding environments, whether installed indoors or outdoors. It is a robust and reliable sensor built on solid-state components and designed with full outdoor protection.
UL-required testing validates resistance to moisture, water, and snow, as well as impacts and UV exposure, which further demonstrates its exceptional durability and long-term reliability.
